I have developed numerous contacts in the Pacific Northwest, including former co-workers who are highly skilled as CPAs. Many of these individuals are available to work with me on an as-needed basis, allowing me to accept engagements that require a larger engagement team. As we have previously worked together, we are comfortable with each other and work together as a team.

History

In pursuit of an enjoyable work environment, I established my own CPA firm.  This allowed me to be more responsive to my clients' needs and provided the opportunity to further professional expertise.

As a manager at both large and small CPA firms, I understand that we are in a personal service industry, and that our most valuable assets are the people who provide those services and the people who we provide them to.

As an instructor for courses at a junior college, and as a participant in writing courses for the California CPA Education Foundation, I have a strong understanding of technical issues as well as auditing and accounting professional standards.

In a small firm in central California, I performed a range of financial statement services, including audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures.  I also prepared corporate, partnership and individual tax returns, along with business payroll, sales and occupational tax returns.  Exposure to the performance of peer reviews expanded my understanding of professional standards, separate and distinct from firm policies. Participation in the management of a CPA firm gave me an excellent understanding of business management.
